ICT Cluster

  • ICT (information and communications technology) is one of the city’s strategic industries that has grown the most in recent years. Overall, the ICT cluster spans more than 53,000 square feet and employs more than 1,500 workers across 150 companies in the region. Reus is the regional leader in ICT infrastructure, with a 250-mile fiber optic cable network and a 400-acre technology park strategically located near the airport and connected to the main state motorways and highways.

The Reus ICT Cluster Association brings together the major information and communications technology institutions and companies from the region. It was founded by the Reus City Council, the Universitat Rovira i Virgili and the companies d-Core Network (T-Systems group), INSA (IBM group), Grupo Castilla, Summar, Alsys and Ticnova. Its goals include promoting cooperation and meetings between its members to foster idea generation and synergies. More than 30 companies currently belong to the association.

The ICT Cluster Association aims to promote shared projects, foster scientific and technological exchange between companies and researchers from universities and technological development centers, foster ICT education at all levels, advise members about innovation opportunities and collaborations, establish strategic relationships with other leading regions in the industry and with Spanish and international institutions to favor exchange and cooperation, attract talent to Reus and the area, and bring in new ICT investment.
